The Central States Communication Association announce that their first 2021 CSCA Hall of Fame inductee is Dr. Paul J. Siddens III, professor emeritus of the University of Northern Iowa.

Siddens was a professor in the Department of Communication and Media (formerly Communication Studies) at UNI from 1988 to 2019, serving as department head in his final three years.

According to the CSCA, one of his nominators wrote, "Paul is a natural mentor -- he does not just mentor his own students or because that is an expectation of his job; he mentors from the heart. At my first CSCA in 2000, he treated me like a peer, acknowledged the strengths I had, and grew my professional network ten-fold. Paul made an indelible impression upon me, and because of him CSCA is my home."

Siddens is also a recipient of the UNI College of Humanities and Fine Arts Faculty Excellence Award (2011) and the Regents Faculty Excellence Award (2013) -- the highest honor from the State Board of Regents of Iowa, for "sustaining a record of excellence across the spectrum of faculty endeavors.”

Siddens in the second UNI faculty member to receive the award, after Melissa Beall in 2012.
